Weekend Shenanigans

Sami's Shenanigans

I had planned on meeting up with Holly and Laura for brunch on Saturday but unfortunately I got the stomach bug from Thomas. Womp. Womp. I spent Friday night and most of Saturday...busy.

My friend Amanda makes the cutest cookies and she made Thomas "get well cookies" and brought them by on Saturday. How cute! If you are in the Memphis area, follow her on instagram @amandadesign, she is so talented!!!

At least this boy was feeling better, especially since his daddy was home. I put him in a jon jon on saturday...I know the days are numbered. His daddy gave me the stink eye but I still think he's adorbs.

Tom's sister recently moved and gave us her old trampoline (sides still need to be put up). Thomas is loving it!

Stomach bug has its upsides, lost 2 pounds and fit into an old dress on Sunday.

Dress didn't last long after an outdoor lunch with these two at our favorite neighborhood pizza place, High Point Pizza.

I'm looking for a picture that will bring color into my living room so we went by Pier One. I like these three but decided against all of them. However, looking at the pictures, I'm loving the starburst mirror in the second one :).

Sunday night we took Mimi out for sushi at Osaka.

Thomas was a pro at the kid's chopsticks.

All in all a good weekend. I didn't do well on exercising or eating but feel ready to tackle this week.

Operation Skinny Jeans
Monday: Dance Jam
Tuesday : Dance Jam
Wednesday: Triple Cardio
Thursday: Dance Jam
Friday: Barbell Strength

Here's to a great week!

5 on Friday

Ok, let's try this again. I had this post up and linked and then it messed up???

1. Tom has been traveling all week so I will be sooo happy when he is home to help with our sick little one!

Poor Thomas started throwing up Wednesday afternoon and threw up 17 times before 3 am. Poor mommy cleaned up puke 17 times...

2. After Wednesday's not so great weigh in this morning I weighed in at 197.6! I guess maybe Thomas's stomach bug helped.

3. I'm so thankful for our next door neighbors. They have a little boy, Connor, that is 27 days older than Thomas. They play really well together (and so do their parents). Its so great just to be able to have a Friday night pizza party in our driveway.

4. On Facebook this week one of my friends posted an old picture of me in dance...it was so amazing to see how much Thomas looks like me. What do you think?

5. Finally so grateful for my mommy this week! She came yesterday and took care of Thomas while I got some sleep. She then even had him spend the night with her last night so I could go to work today and get some sleep. I couldn't do it without her!

No bueno...

Pretty Strong Medicine

No good news. This morning I was 200.4. However, I will say that I was not as strict as I wanted to be. I did get back into working out so I will count that for a win. Since Monday (wow, two whole days) I have stayed under my calories on My Fitness Pal and have done some sort of exercise.

Monday:

20 minutes intervals on treadmill
5 minues bike
5 minutes stairmaster

Tuesday:

45 minutes zumba

And YA'LL. I had never done the stairmaster before. I could only do 5 minutes! Sweat was literally pouring off of my head.

Today I did yoga. I really enjoy yoga but one of the main poses is downward dog. My shoulders and arms are the weakest part of my body so it is VERY hard for me. I decided to make it a challenge for the month of June.

1st 5 days: Hold downward dog for 1 minute

Each 5 days, I'm going to increase the pose time by 15 seconds. I should end at 2 minutes. That doesn't see like alot but I know it will be tough.

Beyond that my goals for the upcoming week are:

1. Workout 5 days

2. Allow only two cheat meals

3. Find a new healthy recipe

And just because he is cute.

Rhode Island

Memorial day weekend we went to Rhode Island for our niece's wedding. It was a beautifiul wedding and a great time...but I didn't stick to my diet at all! AND I didn't work out once. Yesterday I stuck to my calories and I'm hoping to at least do yoga today.

Now for a recap of our weekend. We left Friday morning (6 am!). This is my airplane attire.

After a connection in Charlotte we made it to Rhode Island about lunch time. We went to the only place we could walk to, a TGI Friday...nothing healthy was eaten here. I wanted a picture of us. My husband really did not understand a selfie.

That night I helped to throw a shower for the bride with my four sisters in law. Below is the bride and her bridesmaids.

The bride, her sisters and her mom (Tom's sister).

Bridesmaids in the robes the bride gave as presents. How cute!

Sarah is a notorious thumb sucker so this picture was a must.

The next day was the rehearsal lunch at The Rhino Bar in Newport.

NOW he's starting to get the hang of selfies.

Tom and his sisters

The food was delicious!

After lunch we went to tour the Breakers, a summer mansion the Vanderbilts had. Really? Who lived like that? Well, guess the Vanderbilts did.

Saturday night we met some extended family at a bar for dinner and then Tom and I went out for the grizzlies game. Somehow my outfit was the only picture I got?

Finally, Sunday was the wedding. Tom had a little trouble tieing his bow tie so our nephew stepped in.

I LOVE a seersucker suit and bowtie.

I was all excited to match Tom and all anyone noticed was Tom and Ben matching! Boo!

The wedding was at Warwick Country Club. It was gorgeous!!

Could you get any more beautiful?

I'll take this at my house. Please and Thank you.

Ok, so we worried about rain all day but it was so beautiful. Until 2 minutes before the ceremony. It started sprinkling...

Whcih led to a full on pouring...everyone got soaked.

But could it have led to a more perfect wedding picture?

If you have never seen an 85 year old woman dancing to Thrift shop, this is a must see. This is our Aunt Janice. I can only hope I'm half as fun as she is when I'm her age.
