Ok, so its the 24th of July and I'm just writing about the 11th...oh well. My side of the family has an annual BBQ for the fourth of July. This year we weren't able to do it on the fourth so we had it on the 11th. LOTS of good food was eaten and it was good to see everyone again. Below is "Mimi" with her little EG, Emily, and Shane.

I had to get one of EG by herself.

Mom took one of me and Tom. Isn't Tom's outfit snazzy? Mom said Daddy had one in the 70s...I can not imagine my father in shorts much less plaid shorts!

That night Cyd and David had an informal dinner party for my "Fayette County friends" :) to celebrate our wedding! Cydney did all the food herself and it was wonderful! We also took a great group picture but my camera died right before then! I will get someone to email it to me. Below is me and Tom from the party.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I haven't written in a while but we have been PARTY HOPPING. Two year old's birthday parties that is...First up was Tom's nephew, Elliott. He was SOOO excited to tell us he was TWO and we were going to have CAKE! Tom's sister Laura made him a strawberry cake (to die for!) with farm animals on top. However, Elliott didn't want anyone to EAT the cake; he only wanted to play with it!

This is the Cary family: Mark, Laura, Fontana, Ethan and Elliott.

Tom's sister, Linda, giving Ethan some kisses. I love that smile Ethan has!

More party guests: Marta, Elliott, Tom and Polly.

The next two year old party was for my best friend's daughter, Avery. I still can't believe she has a child, much less a two year old! I keep begging her to wait a little while on getting pregnant again so we can be at the same time..hehe! Avery is not one for pictures so I didn't get a very good one of her. This is about all I got!

Here are some of the party guests enjoying pizza.

Below is Julie with her two sisters and mother.

This is of Charles with his two brothers.

She may not like pictures but she was definitely enjoying opening the presents!

I love kids' parties and can't wait to be having one for ours!! :)

Ok, does everybody love these plates as much as I do?? They are from tracyporter.com. Tom and I never registered for any "everyday" china because i could never find anything that I really LOVED. I didn't want to register for something just for the sake of registering...but oh, if I could find these somewhere that we could register!
Off the subject of plates, we had a great weekend. Friday night we rented Grumpy Old Men. I had never seen it! I made a new bacon appetizer and we had date night in! Saturday we went over and had dinner with Melody, Brian and the boys. Whew, four boys is well, alot. Even with four adults there, I was overwhelmed...can't imagine just the two of them!
I'm definitely looking forward to a four day work week. We have no plans for the 4th yet but I'm sure something will come up!

I'm addicted. Completely and totally addicted. I can't blog today because I can barely tear myself away...

I started reading blogs about a year ago. I thought I was up on most of the more "popular" ones...until I found this one that evidently is widely popular but I had never read. I think I've read her last 3 years of posts in one day. I love her.

Gotta get back...check it out yourself. I'm making her bacon appetizers tonight!

Is it August 8th yet? I'm soo ready for the wedding day to be here. Even more than that, I'm ready for the honeymoon! Tom and I both need a vacation. We are going to Sandals Whitehouse, Jamaica. Tom is not a very good flyer so I tried to find the shortest direct flight. We leave the day after our wedding and come back the next Saturday. Sandals Whitehouse was recommended to us by quite a few people because it is the newest Sandals resort and built to all of their specifications (instead of them buying a resort and converting.) I can't wait to eat seafood and lay out on the beach!

Today we went to Micheal's and got the ring bearer pillow and garter. I decided what was the point in spending alot of money for those two things that as many weddings as I have gone to, I can't remember one single garter or pillow. I'm also going to try to order the bridesmaids' gifts today. I have looked and looked for the perfect thing. I think I found it but no telling cause they could be reading this!!

Cathy, Tom's sister, is making our chihuahua Elle's dress for the wedding. Yes...she is a flower girl! She said she has just finished it and it is cute. I can't wait to see it! Tom asked recently if Elle was taking his name when we got married...I told him I would have to look into the American Kennel Association's take on "adopted" children. :)

I've started getting a little stressed on the "small" things left to do for the wedding. However, all I have to remember is we WILL be married after that day and that is all I really care about. Love you Tom!

These are my choices for rehearsal dinner invites...I can't decide. I love them both!

I need a weekend to get over my weekend! Woo! Friday we actually just rested at home. Saturday night Tom and I went out to eat with our friends, Mark and Melissa. Mark was a good friend of Tom's in college and they all hung out after college. It was my first time to really hang out with them. We went to Abuelo's and had a great time!

Sunday we had our engagement pictures! It was 100 degrees! We were dripping wet with sweat! I have no idea how they will turn out but I will post the link when they are ready.

Not much to say today so that's all!

Today we are finalizing the plans for our rehearsal dinner! We are having it at Buckley's Lunchbox. It's basically Buckley's catering at their lunch restaurant. I love Buckley's! It's a locally owned steakhouse but they have great everything. Tom and I are meeting his mom there for lunch!

Last night, we cooked out. Our adorable 6 year old neighbor came over to play with Elle, our chihuahua. She thinks Mr. Tom looks 20 (really 37) while I look 27 (really 28)....I'm thinking K may have a crush on Mr. Tom though. That's ok, he's easy to crush on...

Let the blogging begin!

Ok, I said I was going to start this blog as an online "scrapbook" documenting mine and Tom's engagement period and new life together.....we got engaged on 3/6/09...so here I am three months later! Better late than never, right?

I'll just start with documenting June. It has been a busy month so far! Tom turned 37 on June 2nd...yes, 37! I can't believe he is that old! (no offense to anyone that age or above...he just seems 25!:)) We started the celebration off with a family birthday dinner at Pete and Sam's, his favorite! Now, if you us, you know that we don't really care for "sweets". Sooo, last year, I didn't get Tom a birthday cake thinking he wouldn't eat it anyway...BIG MISTAKE. I heard about it (jokingly) for three days and then one day after work came home to find he had gone and bought HIMSELF a birthday cake. I was NOT going to make that mistake this year!

If you can see the picture, Tom got a cookie cake AND a regular cake! Tom's family came, my brother and his family and my best friend Melody and her boyfriend. The service was slow but the food made up for it! Below is a picture of Tom and his sweet mom, Polly.

Tom is the baby of five...he has four older sisters! Below is one of his sisters Marta, her husband Chris and her son Sam.

So after the Pete and Sam celebration, I surprised him on his actual birthday with TWO, count em, TWO ice cream cakes! He can't say he didn't have a cake this year, by goodness. Hmm, I thought I had a picture of the cakes but oh well. That night I suprised him with a trip to The Melting Pot. We had never been together and each of us had only been one other time. It was definitely perfect as we go out to eat often but this was just something "different".

I hate the waiter taken photo of us but oh well. After Tom's birthday we moved right on to celebrate more with a couples shower given to us by his sisters and their husbands. As I mentioned earlier, he has 4 (!!!!!) older sisters. The shower was at his youngest sister's house (Laura). The shower was PERFECT. The weather was wonderful. They decorated everything so cute and On the Border catered. Everyone knows I LOVE OTB.

The pictures above are of Tom and his sisters, Me and my mom and brother and of course, us!We got LOTS of great stuff at the shower. My mom actually MADE us a cornhole set with my future name on it! We were WAY excited about that gift and have been playing it ever since!

Well this was an exciting post...not sure if I will have anything to talk about tomorrow!!!
